Million Dollar Snack Mix
If you’re anything like me, once you start picking at a bowl of snack mix, it’s almost impossible to stop! This Million Dollar Snack Mix is packed with all sorts of crunchy, cheesy, salty goodies, and it’s one of those snacks that you keep going back to for just one more handful. Before you know it, half the bowl has disappeared!
I love making little snacks like this when we’ve got people coming over, especially around Christmas or when we’re having a family movie night. It’s so easy to throw together, and you can make a big batch without spending ages in the kitchen. You’ve got Cheez-Its, Goldfish, pretzels, Bugles, nuts and plenty of lovely savoury seasoning, all mixed together and baked until everything is nice and crunchy.
The best thing about this recipe is that you can easily change things around depending on what you’ve already got in the cupboards. It’s great for parties, game days, holiday gatherings or just keeping in a container for everyone to help themselves to throughout the week. Although I wouldn’t count on it lasting that long in our house!

Ingredients
- 2 cups cheddar cheese crackers (Cheez-Its) – These add loads of delicious cheesy flavor and a really satisfying crunch to the mix.
- 2 cups Corn Chex cereal – These soak up all that delicious seasoning and give the mix a lighter crunch.
- 2 cups cheddar Bugles – Another cheesy favorite! Their fun shape is perfect for catching all that delicious seasoning.
- 2 cups Goldfish crackers – These little crackers add even more cheesy goodness, and they’re always a favorite with the kids.
- 2 cups mini saltine crackers – These help balance out all the cheesy flavors and add a nice salty crunch.
- 1 cup pretzel twists – You can’t have a good snack mix without pretzels! They add that classic salty crunch everyone loves.
- 1 cup salted peanuts or cashews – Either works really well, so just use whichever you prefer or already have in the pantry.
- ½ cup grated Parmesan cheese – This gives the whole mix an extra cheesy, savory flavor.
- ⅓ cup vegetable oil – This helps all those delicious seasonings stick to the crackers and cereal.
- ½ tablespoon crushed red pepper – Adds a little kick of heat. Feel free to use less if you prefer things a bit milder.
- 2 teaspoons garlic powder – Gives everything a delicious savory, garlicky flavor.
- ¼ teaspoon black pepper – Just a little to add some extra seasoning and bring all those flavors together.

Step-by-Step Instructions
You can find a printable recipe card at the bottom of this post.
1. Preheat your oven to 250°F and line a large rimmed baking sheet with parchment paper.
2. Grab a really large mixing bowl and add the Cheez-Its, Corn Chex, Bugles, Goldfish, mini saltine crackers, pretzels, and peanuts or cashews. Give everything a good mix so it’s all nicely combined.
3. Sprinkle the grated Parmesan cheese, crushed red pepper, garlic powder, and black pepper over the snack mix.

4. Drizzle the vegetable oil over everything, then give it all a really good toss. You want to make sure all those crackers, pretzels, and nuts are evenly coated with the oil and seasonings.
5. Spread the mixture out evenly on your prepared baking sheet. Pop it into the oven for 15 minutes, giving everything a good stir halfway through so it toasts evenly.

6. Remove from the oven and leave the snack mix to cool completely. It’ll get even crunchier as it cools! Once cooled, break up any pieces that have stuck together and serve, or transfer to an airtight container for later.

Tips for Perfect Million Dollar Snack Mix
This is such an easy recipe to throw together, but there are a few little things worth keeping in mind if you want your snack mix to turn out perfectly crunchy and full of flavor. Nobody wants a bowl of soggy crackers, so here are my top tips!
- Use a really large bowl – There’s quite a lot to mix together here, so make sure you’ve got plenty of room to toss everything around without spilling half of it onto the counter!
- Give everything a good toss – You want the oil and seasonings to coat as much of the mix as possible, so don’t rush this bit.
- Don’t overcrowd the baking sheet – If everything is piled on top of itself, it won’t toast as evenly. Use two baking sheets if you need to.
- Keep the oven temperature low – Baking at 250°F helps everything get nice and crispy without burning those little crackers.
- Adjust the spice to suit your family – The crushed red pepper adds a little heat, but you can easily reduce the amount or leave it out altogether if you’re making this for younger kids.
- Let it cool completely – I know it’s tempting to start picking at it straight from the oven, but it gets crunchier as it cools.
- Make sure it’s completely cool before storing – Putting warm snack mix into an airtight container can trap moisture and leave you with soft crackers instead of lovely crunchy ones.

Get Creative!
One of my favorite things about this Million Dollar Snack Mix is how easy it is to change things around. You really don’t need to stick to the exact ingredients I’ve used here. It’s a great way to use up those half-empty bags of crackers and pretzels hiding in the pantry, and you can have a bit of fun trying different flavors too!
- Make it sweet and salty – Stir in some M&M’s, chocolate chips, or candy-coated peanuts once the mix has cooled completely. I love a little bit of chocolate with salty snacks!
- Try ranch seasoning – Add a tablespoon of dry ranch seasoning mix for a delicious ranch-flavored version. You might want to reduce the garlic powder slightly.
- Give it a smoky twist – Sprinkle in some smoked paprika before baking. It adds a lovely smoky flavor that works really well with all those cheesy crackers.
- Turn up the heat – If you like your snacks spicy, add a little cayenne pepper or extra crushed red pepper. You could even try a pinch of Cajun seasoning.
- Switch up the nuts – Peanuts and cashews are both delicious, but almonds, pecans, or a mixture of your favorites work just as well.
- Try different crackers – Oyster crackers, mini Club crackers, cheese-flavored pretzels, or even some extra Cheez-Its would all be great additions.
- Make a Christmas snack mix – Once everything has cooled, add some red and green M&M’s for a fun holiday version that’s perfect for Christmas parties.
- Add some extra crunch – Throw in a handful of bagel chips, rye chips, or sesame sticks for even more variety.

Serving & Storing
This Million Dollar Snack Mix is one of those recipes that’s perfect for putting out in a big bowl and letting everyone help themselves. It’s great for game days, birthday parties, Christmas gatherings, or just a cozy movie night at home. I like the idea of serving it in a few smaller bowls dotted around the room if you’ve got people coming over. That way, everyone can grab a handful without having to keep getting up!
It’s also a really handy snack to make ahead of time, especially when you’ve got a busy day planned. You can make a big batch the day before a party and have one less thing to worry about. You could even portion it into little paper snack cups or treat bags for parties, school events, or holiday get-togethers. Just be mindful of any nut allergies if you’re sharing it with other people.
To store your Million Dollar Snack Mix, make sure it’s cooled completely before transferring it to an airtight container or a large zip-top bag. Keep it at room temperature in a cool, dry place, and it should stay fresh and crunchy for up to a week. I wouldn’t recommend keeping it in the refrigerator, as the moisture can make the crackers and pretzels go soft.
Can you freeze Million Dollar Snack Mix? Yes! If you’ve made more than you need, pop it into a freezer-safe airtight container or bag and freeze for up to two months. When you’re ready to eat it, just let it thaw at room temperature while still sealed to help prevent moisture from getting onto the crackers. Give it a little shake before serving, and it’s ready to enjoy again.
Although, if your family is anything like mine, I doubt you’ll have much left to worry about storing!
